Evergreen, evergreen
prettiest thing i’ve ever seen
my love for you is always and forever green

i see you standing straight with your arms open wide
lifting up your face to the tear-stained sky
but the rain is passing, it’s gonna be a glorious day

then the wind starts blowing like a saxophone playing
i see your body bending and you start into swaying
oh evergreen you know you blow me away

evergreen you make me so happy
by being there when i need you to be
and you never have to do anything but be free

i could stand right here in your shade forever
though i’m losing my leaves in this autumn weather
i could gaze for a hundred years into your eyes so green,

i’m breathing in your sweet oxygen
i’m rubbing my cheek against your rough skin
you take everything and make it evergreen
