Z-anon-sensei says the current structure began to take shape as the Morale Operations division of the OSS during World War Two.
The Morale Operations group was the Allies’ opposition to the propaganda machine of Goebbels, a counter-attack in the world war of ^mythmemes. But it is said that two forces in direct competition with each other tend to become more and more alike. And several budding young Goebbels grew up inside the Morale Operations group, internalizing the energy and techniques of the Nazis in the process of destroying them.
This was the ultimate weaponizing of Edward Bernays’ still young field known in polite company as ‘public relations’. The psychological manipulation of both the enemy and one’s own population. False information, manipulated press coverage, infiltration into all groups on all sides. The application of scientific methods of psychology to the ^darkpower goal of complete social control. Weakening the enemy’s will to fight while instilling discipline and determination in your own people.
After the Nazis were defeated, the Morale Operations group was absorbed along with much of the OSS into the post-war alphabet soup we call the NSS.
Its goals and stratagems haven’t really changed in almost 80 intervening years. Only the mechanisms have improved, the techniques have been refined, the science perfected.
Meanwhile, back in the WhoreHouse, Pretendident Thump has used another of his TempSecs to massacre the leadership of the US Postal Service. Well, he fired them all, anyway. Best he can do for now. He’s been told the real massacres will come along soon enough. He’s enjoyed trashing vote-by-mail via Twitter, and now Thump can really demolish any hope of a fair election. Kinda fun, though he still fantasizes about that massacre thing, you know, going postal down there on all those postal workers, maybe walking them right out onto 5th Avenue like he likes to brag he could do. Beautiful. And Thump always hated that Costner film, The Postman, anyway. I mean, who could understand that? He’s glad Pooteen suggested taking USPS down. Glad to do it, Pootie, he had told him.
Z-anon-sensei says ^darkplan calls for taking over the postal service, both to disrupt communications generally and to specifically control strategic postal drops in November, in order to steal mail-in ballots during the upcoming election chaos. Other communications systems will also be undermined or taken down as necessary. Morale Operations requires as much control as possible over all communications systems. Electronics are pretty well covered by NSS at this point. Once mail is fully under ^darkpower control, options for resistance will become limited.
